Who is eligible for SSB Constable Tradesman 2026?
Before you pay the fee, please check if you meet the requirements. The eligibility varies slightly for different posts.
- Age Limit: Generally 18 to 23 years for trades like Tailor and Cobbler. For Driver and Veterinary, it is 18 to 27 years. Age relaxation is given to SC/ST (5 years) and OBC (3 years) as per govt rules.
- Qualification:
- Driver: 10th Pass + Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License (HMV).
- Veterinary: 10th with Science + 1 year experience in treating animals.
- Other Trades: 10th Pass + 2 years experience OR 1 year ITI with 1 year experience OR 2 years ITI diploma.
What is the selection process?
To get the job, you have to pass through five main stages. Every stage is important, specially the physical test.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & PST: Running and height/chest measurement. (Male: 4.8 km in 24 mins | Female: 2.4 km in 18 mins).
- Written Exam: 100 marks paper with MCQ questions on GK, Maths, Reasoning, and Hindi/English.
- Skill/Trade Test: You have to show your work (like driving, stitching, etc.).
- Document Verification: Checking your original certificates.
- Medical Exam: Final health checkup.
