UPTET 2026 Notification Released: Apply Online for Paper 1 & 2

Hello friends! Finally, the long wait of lakhs of teaching aspirants in Uttar Pradesh is over. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has released the official UPTET 2026 Notification on March 20, 2026. This is the most important certificate you need if you want to become a primary or junior teacher in UP government schools.

The online registration for UPTET 2026 starts today, March 27, 2026. This year, there is a big change: One-Time Registration (OTR) is now compulsory for everyone. Without OTR, you cannot fill the form. In this blog, we will give you all the details about the syllabus, exam dates, and how to apply without making any mistake.

What are the important dates for UPTET 2026?

The commission has planned the exam in a very systematic way. The exam will be held in July. Please check these dates carefully:

What is the UPTET Syllabus 2026 for Paper 1 and 2?

The syllabus is mostly based on NCERT and SCERT patterns. There are two papers: Paper 1 for classes 1-5 and Paper 2 for classes 6-8. Both papers have 150 questions for 150 marks.

Syllabus for Paper 1 (Primary Level)

  • Child Development & Pedagogy (30 Qs): Focus on 6-11 years age group, learning theories of Piaget, Pavlov, Skinner.
  • Language I - Hindi (30 Qs): Grammar, Unseen passage, and Hindi pedagogy.
  • Language II (30 Qs): Choose one from English, Sanskrit, or Urdu.
  • Mathematics (30 Qs): Number system, LCM/HCF, Geometry, Money, and Measurement.
  • EVS (30 Qs): Family, Food, Plants, Indian Constitution, and Geography.

Syllabus for Paper 2 (Upper Primary Level)

  • Child Development & Pedagogy (30 Qs): Focus on 11-14 years age group (adolescence).
  • Language I & II (60 Qs total): Same as Paper 1 but higher difficulty level.
  • Main Subject (60 Qs):
    • For Science Teachers: Math and Science questions.
    • For Arts Teachers: Social Studies (History, Civics, Geography).

Who is eligible to apply for UPTET 2026?

The eligibility rules are strict. You must have one of these professional qualifications:

For Primary (Paper 1): Graduation + 2-Year D.El.Ed (BTC) OR Graduation with 50% marks + B.Ed (as per latest court/NCTE norms).

For Upper Primary (Paper 2): Graduation + D.El.Ed OR Graduation with 50% + B.Ed OR 12th with 50% + 4-Year B.El.Ed.

What is the application fee for UPTET 2026?

The fee depends on whether you are applying for one paper or both papers.

How to apply online for UPTET 2026?

Don't rush while filling the form. Follow these steps carefully:

  1. Visit the new official website: upessc.up.gov.in.
  2. First, complete your One-Time Registration (OTR). You will need your Aadhaar and mobile number.
  3. Once OTR is done, login with your OTR ID and password.
  4. Fill the UPTET 2026 Application form and select your Paper (1, 2, or both).
  5. Upload your scanned photo and signature in JPEG format.
  6. Pay the fee online and download the Confirmation Page.
