Who is eligible for Assistant Loco Pilot posts?

The eligibility criteria for Railway ALP is quite strict, especially regarding your medical fitness and eye vision. Here are the basic requirements:

• Educational Qualification: You must have passed Class 10th (Matriculation) plus ITI from NCVT/SCVT in trades like Fitter, Electrician, Diesel Mechanic, etc. OR a 3-year Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automobile Engineering.
• Age Limit: Your age should be between 18 to 30 years (as of 1st July 2026).
• Age Relaxation: As per govt rules, SC/ST gets 5 years and OBC (NCL) gets 3 years of extra relaxation.
• Medical Standard: You must meet the A-1 Medical Standard. Your vision must be 6/6 without glasses.

How many vacancies are there in each zone?

The total number of vacancies is 11,127. While the full list will come in May, the board has already indicated the distribution. Zones like East Coast Railway and South Eastern Railway have a higher number of seats this year. Make sure you choose your RRB zone carefully, as you can only apply from one zone.

How to fill the RRB ALP Online Form 2026?

Once the link is active on May 15, you can follow these steps to submit your application on the official portal:

1. Visit the official portal rrbapply.gov.in.
2. Click on the "Apply" button and select "Create an Account".
3. Fill your basic details like Name, Aadhaar number, and Mobile. Verify with OTP.
4. Login again and fill the detailed application form (Education, Trade, etc.).
5. Upload your photo and signature as per the size mentioned in the PDF.
6. Pay the application fee online (Rs. 500 for General/OBC and Rs. 250 for others).
7. Submit the form and take a printout for your records.
