What is the eligibility criteria for MPPSC Assistant Professor?

To fill out the MPPSC Assistant Professor Online Form 2026, you must fulfill educational qualification and age criteria set up by the commission:

1. Educational Qualification:
  • You must have a Master’s Degree in relevant subject with minimum 55% marks from any recognized Indian university (50% marks for reserved category candidates of MP).
  • Along with Master degree, candidate must have cleared UGC NET / CSIR NET exam or state level SET/SLET examination.
  • Those candidates who has been awarded a Ph.D. Degree according to UGC regulations are exempted from the requirement of NET/SET qualification.
2. Age Limit (As per Rules):
  • Minimum Age: 21 Years
  • Maximum Age: 40 Years
  • Age relaxation will be provided to SC, ST, OBC, PwD and women candidates belonging to Madhya Pradesh as per State Government rules.

What is the application fee structure for this online form?

You can pay your registration fees through online mode using credit card, debit card, or net banking. The fee details is given below:

  • General Category & Candidates Outside MP: Rs. 500/- + Rs. 40/- Portal Charges = Rs. 540/-
  • SC / ST / OBC / EWS Candidates of MP: Rs. 250/- + Rs. 40/- Portal Charges = Rs. 290/-

Note: The application fees once paid will not be refunded back under any circumstances.

What is the selection process and exam pattern?

The MPPSC selection process consists of two major phases to find out most deserving candidates:

  1. Written Examination: It will be an offline OMR-based test containing objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
  2. Interview: Candidates who clear the written cut-off marks will be called for interview session.
  3. Document Verification: Final verification of certificates before joining.
Written Exam Pattern Highlights:
  • Paper-I: General Knowledge of MP, National & International affairs (50 Questions, Duration: 1 Hour).
  • Paper-II: Concerned Subject Specific Paper (150 Questions, Duration: 3 Hours).
  • Total Marks: 800 Marks for written exam. There will be negative markings too, so keep that in your mind while answering!

Yes, candidates from all over India can apply for these posts. However, candidates outside MP will be treated under General category only and will not get any reservation benefit.

No, PhD is not mandatory for everyone. If you have a Master's degree with 55% marks along with a valid UGC NET, CSIR NET, or MP SET qualification, you can easily apply. But if you have PhD, you are exempted from NET/SET condition.

The basic salary starts from Rs. 57,700/- per month which falls under Academic Pay Level 10. Candidates also get extra allowances like Dearness Allowance (DA) and House Rent Allowance (HRA) according to state government norms.
