Are you eligible for Navy 10+2 BTech entry?

The eligibility conditions are quite strict for defence entries. Read carefully to check if your profile fits all criteria:

1. Age Limit and Marital Status

Only unmarried male and female candidates can apply. You should not marry during your training period either, otherwise you will be discharged from academy.

Your date of birth should fall between 02 July 2007 and 01 January 2010 (both dates are inclusive by navy rules).

2. Educational Qualification

You must have passed your Senior Secondary Examination (Class 12th) or its equivalent from any recognized board with at least 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). Also, you must score minimum 50% marks in English language either in Class 10th or Class 12th level.

3. Mandatory Entrance Exam

You must have appeared for the JEE (Main) 2026 exam for B.E./B.Tech paper. The shortlisting will completely depend on your All India Common Rank List (CRL) score announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA).


How many vacancies are allocated for branches?

This time the vacancies are divided cleanly between two popular technical streams. Women candidates also have reservation inside these total seats.

What is the selection process step-by-step?

Since there is no written test, the selection process focuses heavily on your psychological and physical capability. The stage-by-stage selection works like this:

Step 1: Shortlisting: Indian Navy will fix a cut-off rank based on applications received and JEE Main 2026 CRL. If you clear the cut-off, call letter for SSB will be sent via email or SMS.

Step 2: SSB Interview (5 Days Process): Interviews are conducted at centers like Bangalore, Bhopal, Kolkata, or Visakhapatnam.

  • Stage I: Intelligence Test, Picture Perception and Description Test (PPDT), and Group Discussion. If you fail this on Day 1, you go back home on same day.
  • Stage II: Psychological test, Group Testing Officer (GTO) outdoor tasks, Personal Interview, and the final Board Conference which runs for next 4 days.

 

Step 3: Medicals & Merit List: Recommended candidates undergo medical checkup for 3-5 days. Finally, a merit list is drawn completely based on marks secured in the SSB interview. If you are fit and fall under vacancy zone, you receive your joining letter!


How to fill the online application form correctly?

Follow these quick steps so that your application does not get rejected due to tiny mistakes:

  1. Go to the official website of recruitment: www.joinindiannavy.gov.in.
  2. Register yourself using a working Email ID and active Mobile Number. Keep them active until whole selection process is over.
  3. Login and navigate to current opportunities, choose "10+2 B.Tech Entry".
  4. Fill out your personal details exactly as mentioned in your Class 10th matriculation certificate.
  5. Enter your 10+2 marks and your JEE Main 2026 Common Rank List (CRL) rank very carefully. Do not write category rank by mistake.
  6. Upload clear scanned copies of your original documents like Class 10 mark sheet, Class 12 mark sheet, and JEE Main 2026 scorecard.
  7. Submit preferences for your engineering streams and print out the application form copy for your record.
