What is the Passing Criteria and Grading System?
To pass the Maharashtra HSC exam, a student must score at least 35% marks in each subject (including both theory and practicals). If you score higher, you will fall under these divisions:
| Percentage Range | Division / Grade |

| 75% and Above | Distinction |
| 60% to 74% | First Division |
| 45% to 59% | Second Division |
| 35% to 44% | Pass Grade |
What to do if you are not happy with your marks?
Don't worry if your result is not what you expected. The board provides options for students who want to double-check their marks. You can apply for Verification of Marks or even get a Photocopy of Answer Sheets. The application window for this will open from May 3 to May 17, 2026. You will have to pay a small fee online for this service.
Also, for students who failed in one or two subjects, the Supplementary Exams will likely be held in July 2026. This gives you a chance to save your academic year without waiting for the next annual exam.
