1. Educational Qualifications
- You must have passed your Matriculation (Class 10th) exam with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized school board.
- Along with Class 10th, you must hold a 3-year Engineering Diploma from an AICTE recognized polytechnic institute with at least 50% marks overall.
- Eligible Engineering branches include Mechanical, Marine Engineering, Production, Automobile, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, and Metallurgy.
2. Age Limit Criteria (Both Dates Inclusive)
Your date of birth determines whether you fit into the first batch or the second batch. Check your certificates carefully against these brackets:
- For Agniveer Apprentice 01/2027 Batch: Born between December 1, 2004, and May 31, 2009.
- For Agniveer Apprentice 02/2027 Batch: Born between May 1, 2005, and October 31, 2009.
- Note: If your birth date falls between December 1, 2004, and October 31, 2009, you are perfectly eligible to sit for the INET 2/2026 exam!
3. Marital Status
Only unmarried Indian male candidates are allowed to register. You cannot marry during the entire four years service tenure, otherwise you will be dismissed from the service routine.
Stage I: Online Computer Test (INET)
This is a written computer test containing 100 multiple choice questions. The total duration is exactly 1 hour (60 minutes). The exam is bilingual (Hindi and English) and comprises sections like English, General Awareness, Science, Mathematics, and trade-specific Diploma questions. Watch out for the negative marking, because 0.25 marks will be cut for each wrong response!
Stage II: Physical, Written and Medical rounds
Candidates shortlisted from Stage I on a state-wise merit list will receive a call letter for Stage II. This physical round requires specific parameters:
- Height Requirement: Minimum 157 cms.
- 1.6 Km Running challenge: Must be completed within 6 minutes and 30 seconds.
- Squats (Uthak Baithak): 20 times.
- Push-ups: 15 times.
- Bent Knee Sit-ups: 15 times.
After physical fitness tests, a secondary physical written exam and recruitment medical examination will happen before final enlistment.
