  • Child Development (Primary School Child) - 15 Questions: Development concepts and their relationship with learning, principles of child development, influence of heredity & environment, socialization processes (teachers, parents, peers). Theories of Piaget, Kohlberg, and Vygotsky. Multi-dimensional intelligence, language & thought, gender bias and educational practice, individual differences among learners.
  • Inclusive Education - 5 Questions: Addressing learners from diverse backgrounds, understanding children with learning difficulties or physical impairments, and supporting talented or creative learners.
  • Learning and Pedagogy - 10 Questions: How children think and learn, why they fail to achieve success, basic teaching processes, child as a problem solver, alternative conceptions of learning, cognition & emotions, motivation factors.

2. Language I & Language II (30 Questions Each)

  • Language Comprehension - 15 Questions: Reading unseen passages (prose, drama, or poem) with questions based on comprehension, grammar, and verbal ability.
  • Pedagogy of Language Development - 15 Questions: Learning and acquisition, principles of language teaching, role of listening and speaking, challenges of teaching in a diverse classroom, language skills evaluation, teaching materials (textbooks, multimedia), and remedial teaching.

3. Mathematics (30 Questions)

  • Core Content - 15 Questions: Geometry, shapes, solids around us, numbers, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurement, weight, time, volume, data handling, patterns, and money.
  • Pedagogical Issues - 15 Questions: Nature of mathematics, logical thinking, place of math in the school curriculum, language of mathematics, evaluation methods, teaching problems, error analysis, diagnostic and remedial teaching.

4. Environmental Studies (EVS) (30 Questions)

  • Core Content - 15 Questions: Family and Friends (relationships, work and play, animals, plants), food, shelter, water, travel, and things we make and do.
  • Pedagogical Issues - 15 Questions: Concept and scope of EVS, significance of integrated EVS, environmental education, learning principles, relation to science & social science, approaches to teaching, practical work, Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE), and teaching aids.

Paper 2 is meant for candidates aspiring to teach Upper Primary Stage classes (Class VI to VIII). Here, you get a choice in your main specialization subject depending on your background.

    • Maths (30 Qs): Number system, algebra, ratio & proportion, geometry, mensuration, data handling, and math pedagogy.
