How Many Vacancies are Available?

Who is Eligible to Apply for Railway Apprentice?
The eligibility for Railway Apprentice is very simple, but you must have the documents ready to prove it. Even 1% less marks in 10th can lead to rejection.
- Educational Qualification: You must have passed 10th class (Matriculation) with at least 50% aggregate marks.
- Technical Qualification: An ITI Certificate in the relevant trade is compulsory. Both NCVT and SCVT certificates are now accepted (as per the latest corrigendum).
- Age Limit: You should be between 15 to 24 years old as of 10 March 2026.
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get 5 years extra, and OBC candidates get 3 years relaxation. PwBD candidates get 10 years.
What is the Selection Process and Salary?
There is no written exam and no interview for this job. Selection is purely done on Merit basis. The RRC will calculate your average marks from 10th class and ITI to prepare the final list. If two people have the same marks, the older person gets priority.
Stipend: During the 1-year training, you will receive a monthly stipend of approx Rs. 9,600. Please note that Railway does not provide any hostel or stay facility; you have to manage it yourself.
