Hello friends! Great news for all teaching aspirants in Jharkhand. The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has finally released the notification for the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JHTET/JTET) 2026. If you want to become a teacher for Classes 1 to 5 or 6 to 8 in Jharkhand government schools, this is your chance!

What is JHTET 2026?

The Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JHTET) is a state-level exam conducted by JAC to check if candidates are qualified to teach in primary and upper primary schools. Without qualifying this exam, you cannot apply for regular government teacher vacancies in the state. This year, the process is being conducted with updated guidelines for 2026.

How much is the JHTET 2026 Application Fee?

The fee depends on your category and whether you are applying for one paper or both. You can pay the fee online using Net Banking, Debit Card, or Credit Card.

General / EWS / BC-I / BC-II ₹ 1300 ₹ 1500
SC / ST / PwD ₹ 700 ₹ 800
Primitive Tribe (PVTG) ₹ 500 ₹ 600

Am I eligible for JHTET 2026?

Eligibility is divided into two levels. Please check carefully before filling the form:

  • Level 1 (Class 1-5): You need 12th pass (Intermediate) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). (45% for older candidates as per NCTE 2002).
  • Level 2 (Class 6-8): You need a Graduation degree with at least 50% marks and B.Ed OR Graduation with D.El.Ed.
  • Age Limit: The minimum age is 21 years. There is no specific upper age limit as per NCTE norms, but para-teachers get relaxations as per government rules.

How to fill JHTET 2026 Online Form?

Follow these simple steps to ensure your application is submitted correctly:

  1. Visit the official portal at jactetonline.com or jac.jharkhand.gov.in.
  2. Click on the "New Registration" link for JTET 2026.
  3. Enter your mobile number and email to get your Login ID and Password.
  4. Log in and fill in your personal and educational details carefully.
  5. Upload your recent photo and signature in the mentioned size.
  6. Pay the application fee based on your category.
  7. Download and print the final confirmation page for future use.

What is the Exam Pattern?

The exam will be offline (OMR-based) and will have no negative marking. Each paper is of 150 marks with 150 questions to be solved in 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Yes, if you meet the eligibility for both, you can apply for both papers by paying the combined fee of ₹1500 (for Gen).

No, there is no negative marking in the JHTET exam. You get 1 mark for every right answer.
